Paul E. Ameling, age 103, passed away peacefully at Otterbein-Portage Valley Retirement Village, Pemberville, OH, on Saturday, December 1, 2012.
Paul was born on June 14, 1909 to Charles and Pearl (Fritz) Ameling in Gibsonburg, Ohio. He married Viola Herman on June 18, 1937 in Pemberville, OH and she preceded him in death on May 23, 1991.
Paul was a crane operator for Ohio Lime, Woodville, OH, retiring in 1974. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Pemberville, OH and the Pemberville Freedom Area Historical Society.
In his spare time Paul enjoyed woodworking, hunting, gardening and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his children: Ruth Phillips of Pemberville, OH, Charles (Wilma) Ameling of Portage, OH, Dale (Witt) Ameling of Bowling Green, OH, brother: Norman (Lillian) Ameling of FL, sisters: Edna Geisler of Elmore, OH, Betty Younker of Martin, OH, grandchildren: Gail (Merl) Moenter of Pemberville, OH, Steve (Claudia) Phillips of FL, Brian Ameling of SC, Dean (Heather) Ameling of Perrysburg, OH, Dana Ameling of Bowling Green, OH, Don (Tammie) Ameling of Bowling Green, OH, 12 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.
